Question:

I have a problem with my computer's sound...?

I own a laptop, and normally use the built in speakers. My computer's sound used to be normal and fine, but for the past few months it's been getting quieter and quieter. I have adjusted all the volume controls to max, but it hasn't made any difference. I've tried using headphones, but the sound is just as quiet as it is with the built in speakers. It's now become too quiet for me to play DVDs or online movies like I used to, I can barely hear what's going on. What's wrong with it? Could I do anything to fix this, or could this be fixed by someone else? If so, what kind of place should I bring it to to get fixed?

  1. I would check your sound settings in your control panel and make sure they are still high up, if that is not the case then you should figure out what kind of sound card you have in your laptop and update the drivers, or even reinstal them.. Also if your laptop has a little wheel type volume adjustment on the side, make sure that is set to the highest level, because adjustments made to sound settings wont affect that.

  2. Click-control panel-sound and audio-then check both volume and audio to make sure the levels are set to high.
