Hi I have been playing golf for about a year now with my school team. But on my gloved hand I get terrible blisters on the palms of my hand and on my right hand I get them on my fingers. I don't notice them while I play so I end up playing til I bleed. Then the blisters end up effecting the way I hold my club. My coaches don't know how to fix it. Any ideas of whats causing this?

  1. I too play for my school team, high school varsity actually. I too get blisters, so i know where your coming from. Here's what i do: #1)  i make sure that the glove i use is a proper fit. Its just like shoes. Too small or too big= blisters.  #2) Make sure your grip isn't too hard or too tight. Most blisters come from gripping the club WAY too tight. I used to grip the club tight also. Just loosen up. Relax. Have fun.  #3) use tape/and or band-aids. Pop the blister and put Salve on a band-aid on the blister. Then put tape on to hold the band-aid in place.           My blisters went away within a couple of days/week.  I now don't use a glove and always carry band-aids and tape along on the course, you know, just in case ;) ... hope that helps. Golf Well!!

  2. Its actually a pretty simple solution, if you are getting blisters I would say that the problem is you are gripping the club way to hard.  You need to just grip it hard enought to hold on to the club.

Not only will this stop blisters, it will make you a better golfer aloing the way

  3. you should go a golf course that has a teaching PGA pro and he or she can see for video you and see which are doing .and in some cases there is all kinds of  grip on the market that can help

  4. If you ask any PGA teaching professionals out there, grip is one of the most important piece in a golf swing. Annika, Tiger, Adam Scott, Vijay, Phil.... thay all would agree that if there swing is off, the first thing they would check is their grip. The tendency for you to white knuckle your grips is probably due to the fact that you feel as though you can hit the ball further if you apply a death grip, that is the last thing you want to do. Your shots become erractic and inconsistent. You will also get tired sooner because with a grip that tight you have to swing your clubs pretty hard in order for you to see the desired ball flight.

First of all, your grip is too tight. here's a little advice about regarding the tension level of your grip. Both of your index fingers and your thumbs should be as loose as possible and your other 6 finger should be holding onto your club. Place a tee between your left hand and the butt of the club. If the tee falls off your grip tension is too weak. Grip it with enough tension so that the tee don't fall to the ground. This you would allow your wrist to turn over with ease at impact without your grip being too tight.

Keep on practicing this and you will have a better feel for the club head while loosing your wrist to transfer your coiled power effectively.

    Hope this helps.

  5. i will agree with the first 3 guys who post their answer that you're holding (gripping) the club to tight. the second thing that you should be gripping the club in your fingers and not the palm of your hand.

the yourself a new glove and practice gripping the clue in your fingers and not in the palm of your hand. I have enclude couple of video oh how to grip your club.

  6. You are either gripping too hard or in your back swing you loosen your grip at the top, allowing the club to move in your hand causing friction.

Practice having a consistant grip throughout the entire swing to fix this problem.

  7. You could be gripping to firm.

You shouldn't be getting blisters on your glove hand because that is what it is for.

Don't grip to firm and try to replace your gloves when you can.

For your not golf grip hand you can either wear another glove or maybe look into buying this product from http://www.thedigitalshield.com

Alot of pros use many different types of different tapes to project their fingers from blisters.
