The problem is that I can't connect to the internet anymore on my other DELL laptop. On this toshiba laptop I'm using at the moment everything is fine and everyting runs smoothly.

I use My Dell laptop to go on the internet most of the time but since I installed Windows Service Pack 3 then it gave me an error message...after that I switched off the computer normally and didnt bother with it again.

The next day the internet didn't work on the Dell laptop...It doesnt recieve anything in the local are connection thing but It says : `Local Area Connection is now connected.` 100.0Mbps Speed` or something like that... but of course the internet doesnt work. However on the other side it works with the other laptop.

Sorry for this long life story lol but I just thought it might make my point more specific. Thank You in advance.

  1. Get virgin to check the connection for you.

  2. Well it must be some thing to do with the windows pack. Anyway your best bet is to look in your local paper for a computer specialist so you can ask him/her and find out that way if you don't have any luck on here. They are much cheaper than a Computer shop like P.C. world.

  3. check...

enter google.com into the address bar

  4. Try disabling any software firewalls you have I seem to recall SP3 caused a problem with Zonealarm firewall. If you have a wireless router you don't need a firewall anyway all routers have a NAT firewall built in

Alternatively uninstall SP3 if you can. If you remember the error message it may help

  5. This sounds like typical Virgin problems as I have Virgin broadband and it comes up with LAN connected but doesn't surf during peak hours.

If you are having problems and are still in the trial period, I would send it back as it won't get any better as many people who have it know.
