I have a problem with my ps3, digital coxal please help.?

Guys, I have a PS3 and my cable box connected to my TV via HDMI, and I'm using the coxal Digital Out from my TV to my logitech speakers which has worked fine till i started streaming from my pc to the PS3, now when I watch a show usualy DIVX or XVID I lose the sound out of my logitech speakers but i could hear the show through my tv speakers. when I connect the PS3 dirctly to speakers using opitcal it works fine. does anyone have any idea......help is appreciated

  1. I'm not sure, but it sounds like you are trying to do this

    PS3 --> TV ---> Logitech speakers

    with digital audio.

    The PS3 must then be connected to one of the TV external inputs.  The problem is, most TVs will not pass through digital audio from an external input to their digital audio output.  You can get the sound from the TV speakers, but the signal is not sent to the TV's digital ouput.  If your cable box is sending RF to your TV, the TV will output that decoded audio via its digital output.

    You may need to get an optical switch so that you can connect the PS3 digital audio out directly to the Logitech speakers.
