Question:

I have a problem with my sod

I just laid 2500 square feet of sod 5 days ago. There are a couple spots that look dead. I lifted the sod in that area and found white substance that looks like cob webs in each of the areas that look dead. Any ideas what that is and how I get rid of it?

  1. i wouldn't worry about it too much(the white substance), most likely they are just the roots,

sod//grass rarely ever dies, water it daily, and allow it a few weeks to spruce up, plants typically don't like to be transplanted, and it can often take a while to "get used to" there new location

  2. 1. Try looking this up in Encarta, Google or Library. Sorry I cant help more than this with your first question.

    2. No, new grass should be left until the following spring before feeding.

    Good luck. h
