I do mean when i am actually driving. I know you have to have somebody that has a full driving license in the car with someone with a provisional, but do they have to sit in the front passenger seat when driving?

  1. According to the DVLA site:

If you want to practise your driving with an accompanying driver, the accompanying driver must be over the age of 21 and must have held (and still hold) a full licence, in the relevant vehicle category, for three years.

As a learner driver you must display 'L' plates ('L' or 'D' plates in Wales) in a conspicuous position on the front and rear of the vehicle you are driving.

But the reason the person would/should be in the car is to be assisting you with learning, so if you've been on a jolly with a few mates, and one in the back happens to be over 21 and had license for 3 years dont think the old bill will let you get away with it!

  2. DEPENDS ON THE STATE. IN TEXAS, THE ANSWER IS YES. BEST WOULD BE TO CALL THE LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT, I.E. THE POLICE, THEY SHOULD BE ABLE TO ANSWER IT THE BEST.
