I have a purple rug, and i dont know what colors match for a comforter?

are you getting one solid color?or are you going to go with something with a little bit of purple in it.if you go for a solid get one of those white goose feather down comforters i have one and they are nice and look good.

The opposite of purple is yellow, so use that to make it "pop."

On the other hand, to make a softer look, go for similar colors, like pink, lavender, or orchid.

sage green.  also, you do not have  purple rug, you have an eggplant rug.

accents may be a red that is darker than cherry, but brighter than maroon,

an ecru shade about the color of aged parchment paper, gold, a darker shade.

I always thought yellow and purple went well together. Maybe something with some purple, yellow, maybe a green or another light color. Something to brighten it up a bit.

you'd be hard pressed to find a comforter that DIDN'T match!

as long as you don't go too crazy with the color pallet you could do just about anything

what i'd do is get a chocolate brown comforter to bring warmth to the room, but black, light yellow, blue, green... anything would work

This is just me, but I think orange or teal would look awesome. Maybe with a purple or yellow design on it. If you want a less bold look, you could do something white, or a different shade of purple. But really, most colors look great with it :3

you know what goes great with purple? bright green. the fact that they are sooo opposite makes them look great together. You could go the safe option and go cream or you could create a great oriental feel and get a nice doona cover that is a satin patchwork of purples, golds and oranges creating a persian feel to the room.
