  1. i would say go to www.aquabid.com i have bought 11 betta's there!!!they have all lived:)

  2. The minimum age is 4 months and the maximum age is a year. Most of the ones at pet stores are 6 months to a year. Halfmones are one of the harder Betta's to breed because their is no gene to make their tails like that. It is really hit and miss with half moons. You can mix colors, but if you mix colors, expect mixed mixed babies also! You can get good Betta's at bettatalk.com, but they are really expensive. You can get good Betta's here- http://aquabid.com/

For an ok price, but the shipping can be high.

  3. I was told that the best age is about 4 months to about a year....I'd say anything over 2 years will be a little bit harder. More time and patience. Some of the bettas you find at a petstore are over 1 yr and sometimes they've been bred a couple of times. As far as the colors go, it all depends on what you're looking for. Is it the finnage, the color patterns? You can mix them up.

Have you tried going to a local petstore and getting a special order of a HM or SD?? Just ask for a price and go from there. Good luck!

  4. Anywhere from 4 months to 18 months will be a good age. You can mix colors however you want. You can buy good bettas for decent prices from Petland, Petsmart or Petco. I would not recommend Walmart as they usually do not take care of their bettas.
