Question:

I have a question, why do people assume that all women wanted to vote for Clinton?

That is a form of sexism in itself, suggesting that all women are the same, want the same thing. I honestly prefer Obama and I found nothing wrong with suppporting him over a fellow woman.

  1. Because people are predictable and stupid.

It is the same as assuming if you are black you vote for Obama.

Personally, I think the only way for this to cease, if for people to adopt a "colorblind" attitude.

No black history month or Feminist rallies. Making acceptions for minorities is just as damaging as descrimination.

  2. Not just women, but it works the same way with all demographics in general. It's annoying when people say this certain demographic "prefers" this candidate over the other because of blah blah blah. That whole "Winning the black vote, the women vote, the elderly vote, the military vote" etc is so prevalent in the media.

Are people not capable of thinking for themselves and making their own decisions?

  3. You can't even assume that all feminists wanted to vote for Clinton. There was actually a huge split between feminists before Obama got it. I prefer him, too.

  4. A woman who can think for herself!

    May i kiss your feet?

  5. who?

i did not vote for him

  6. People tend to group people into categories. In this example, they are assuming all women want Clinton, all blacks want obama and all older white men want McCain

  7. Because Clinton polled at nearly 70% among white women.  Also, Obama polls over 90% among black Americans.  Stereotypes are not absolute, but sometimes they are still useful.  For instance, if Hillary knows that she is polling 70% among white women, she can assume that one of her issues is resonating with that group.  What issue is it?  How can she increase this message?  Also, only an idiot assumes an individual holds a position just because it is most likely the case.

  8. I can't imagine all women voted for Hillary considering, there are more women in our population than men.

That just shows how stupid stereotypes are.

  9. Yes, yes, yes.  We totally went through this while she was running. It is a form of sexism.  Voting for or not voting for someone because of what is between their legs is sexist, just like voting for or against someone because of their race is racist.

  10. Well I'm a woman & I never supported Hillary to begin w/.

  11. I've never had anyone assume I was a Clinton fan.

I guess I just don't associate with people who would make those types of generalizations.

I've always been a McCain fan myself.  From the very get-go.  First Republican presidential candidate I've ever supported.

    :)
