Why are we in this particular body we are in now? If it's God, why did he place us in this body? Why couldn't we be a somebody else? do you guys know where i'm coming from? Is there really such a thing called free will?

  1. I think, personally, it is pure chance, although there is no possibility it could have happened any other way. Because it didn't. There is only possibility when the outcome is still uncertain, and still I think many things are probably decided a long time before they happen, by tiny thoughts or movements that build up to form a course. As for free will - well yes I think we do have free will in a sense; in that we are able to consider all factors and outcomes before making a decision, but I do not believe these considerations are necessarily down to pure chance either. I would call myself an atheist because to me the possibility of there being a higher power (apart from possibly the universe) is so remote and far-fetched. Sorry for being so vague, but Philosophy is questions. If you ever get any definite answers, that's science.

  2. there is free will unless you are a BIG believer of destiny and follow it's every line. (sorry to say this for big religious peoples) god may not exist. it may just be science as far as we know. but we are here for a purpose. it's like a video game if you really think hard. we are supposed to keep mother earth in top condition and if we don't do just that soon it will be game over for earth and new game for moon.

  3. you couldnt be in someone else because YOU ARE YOUR BODY your mind and thoughts are not separate from your body. what you are thinking is actually caused by chemical reactions neurons etc in your brain which is part of your body. do you get it now?

  4. Something similar to "Magic".

  5. "Hello" has the closest answer. As I said in another answer to you, your name tells me a lot about you.

You think that identities are free agents floating in the nether land, to be chosen or perhaps snatched at random, and placed into a body at conception or sometime like maybe right at birth.

Identities are not independent of the body they are in, and would not exist were there no body for them to exist in. The may have some genetic inheritances, such as smiling or laughing a lot, or being glum and nonchalant. But anyone can change who he/she is, and personality changes are not unheard of.

You are in the body you are in because that is body you developed in, not the body you were dropped into by the stork.

  6. no. there is no such thing as free will. there is no such thing as uniqueness. We are driven by the same impulses as everyone else, varying only by the degree to which we practice self restraint.

Think about it: what does free will mean? The ability to choose if I want to eat pizza or pasta?

Free will is a meaningless expression. We are slaves to our impulses and the confines of social pressure. Our actions throughout life are manipulated by society, and this allows for a civilization to be somewhat cohering with itself.

Life is a schedule. There is no "free will" in the way we structure our lives, which are mostly comprised of work, worry, and insatiable ambition.

Why are we in this body? Genetics. but you are not your body. You are only your mind.

Your best friend in life is not your mirror - Jude.

  7. We are what we are because we could be nothing else. Only that which is expressly forbidden cannot be. What can be must be. And that is why you are who you are because the universe made no other provision.

  8. Yes there is free will. In fact that is the whole basis for the ongoing "war in heaven" (which by the way continues on Earth right now). God created us to be perfect and wanted us to freely follow him and be a family. Lucifer did not want us to have free will, and tricked our ancestors in the Garden of Eden into allowing themselves to be genetically tampered with. If you do some cultural history research you'll find it's true in more than just the Biblical account. We were bred with fallen angels and continue to be so we will make good slaves. We only use 10% of our brain allowing us to be led by fear and tradition and other tools, we are prone to disease, we die easily and have short life spans. This is not condoned by God and after much battling Jesus came to show us the final plan. He went through all the shortcomings we have and died. After dying he rose again alive, and asked the deciples to stick thier finger in his nail hole to prove he was really there. He had a body but it could no longer die! We too will have a new body. One made of pure spirit (light) so we can no longer be controlled by routine, institutions, pain, suffering, confusion, fear, and lack of knowledge. These are all because of our current limitations. They will be healed for everyone when Christ brings the Kingdom of Heaven to Earth like he promised. We have the power now to use our free will to overcome these things if we want. God is still in control and we are his children, therefore we are in control. We have to overcome the lie that we are still slaves and use the authority Christ showed us until our new bodies are given to us.

  9. Free will exists, God does not.  We are in this body because we were born into them from our parents, and transformed these bodies into what they are now. There is no middle man.

  10. It's like a biological reality show where, instead of a few matches and a fish hook, you're given some inherited traits and the opportunity to make the most of them.

  11. From my personal beliefs, I do believe that God put us on this earth and made us in his own image. Yes in other words a Intelligent Designer (aka the forbidden word in Creationism). And indeed we were put to rule over all his creation. And yes there is free will, you have choices to make in your life and only you can make them. Nobody is there to control you and chose your life, it's your path and you choose what u make out of it. We were given free will, but that doesn't mean that we should abuse it, you must obey the laws and authorities put before you. Thats why theirs is such a thing as a conscience :)
