  1. The maximum occupancy for a Carnival cruise lines regular room is 4 people- and even those rooms need to be booked by type (extra beds pull down from the ceiling).  The rooms are not large enough to roll in an extra cot.  You should call the cruise line and make sure they are aware that you are planning for 5 in one room.  If it's a room with a max occupancy of 4, they can't allow the 5th person.  It's a fire and emergency hazard.  Also, maybe you don't realize it, but the rooms are tiny, and not intended for 5.  I'd think you would be very uncomfortable.  There are some suites that can sleep 5 people, but they are expensive and if money is an issue, you'd be better off with 2 regular rooms than a family suite.

  2. Do you have a suite?  I was on the imagination for the 4 night cruise in Jan & the room was very tight (and there were only 2 of us).  I just can't imagine 5 in one room.

  3. The two beds can be pushed together to make a larger bed for two.  THere are two bunks that are extended from the ceiling by the stewards every night and then tucked away in the morning.  The 5th person will more than likely have a cot which you'll more than likely have to stuff in the hallway by the bathroom because the cabins aren't very spacious.

  4. OK- well the room we stayed in had 2 twin beds that could stay separate or make one large bed.  Also there were 2 beds that came down from the ceiling.  When I went on a cruise in high school they also added a cot in the room for an extra person.  I'm not sure-  Call your vacation planner and ask what type of room you will be in and how it is going to work.  Carnival is very easy to work with and they know answers to every question I have ever asked.

  5. The twins can be pushed together to make queen and I believe there are folding beds off the opposite wall from twin beds. My wife and two kids are doing the fun ship cruise next summer.

  6. if their are four beds, isn't one of them gonna be able to hold 2 ppl?

so 2 on one bed, the 1 person on each of the other 3 beds

  7. They have the two twin beds, and the two upper berths.  In addition, they can put a rollaway bed in the room to make five.  It will be extremely crowded in the room, but I would not worry about that.  We have sailed on the Fantasy and the Inspiration with four people in the room with no problems.  The rooms on Carnival ships are larger than RCCL ships.  We only use the room for sleeping, showering and dressing.  Just try to schedule shower times and you should be fine.  Enjoy the cruise.   We saw the Imagination in Grand Cayman last year, and met some of the people on it on the island.  They loved the ship and were having a great time.
