i went to my doctor Tuesday well i found out i was taking it at the wrong time and was to embarrassed to ask since i had been calling a few times before. well does it matter if i take it on the 3rd day of my period or the 5th? as of late my last 2 periods only lasted 5 days. so i suppose the 3rd day? he wants to test me in Sept. to see if I'm ovulating. he had said in may that if i wasn't pregnant by my 3 month checkup in August he was gonna up my dosage. am at 100mg now. obviously I'm not pregnant! any other info u have i would appreciate!

  1. You take it CD 2-5 usually but some Dr's will advise a different way.  When I took it I took it CD 2-5.  After 1 month of low dose it was upped and then upped again.  6 months later I was on the highest dose and still didn't ovulate.

  2. First, you should be taking it on the days your doctor instructs you to take it.  If he says CD 5-9, do CD5-9.

Clomid is usually STARTED between CD2-5 somewhere and always taken for 5 days in a row.  What day you start is doctor preference.  He/she will decide which day to start you.

I've done CD5-9 and I've done CD4-8, there's no difference.  The most important thing is to follow doctor's instructions.

Doctor's don't usually increase the dosage if you are ovulating.  Before taking a higher dose, it should be determined if you are responding to the dose you're on.
