So i had 8 teeth including my wisdom teeth removed on wednesday in order to get braces. My gums are still sore and hurt. I have a bump on my upper gum where one tooth was removed. Can i have a dry socket and not be in that much pain? I also tasted some blood earlier. I spit in the sink and it was bleeding a little bit not bad though.

  1. bleeding after any extraction up to 5 days after is totally normal. As long as it isn't extremely dark blood and it isn't heavy bleeding. If it was a dry socket you would know it. It stinks, it feels like you have ball in the socket and it aches badly. Rinse with warm salt and take you pain meds as needed. No smoking and stick  with soft foods. No straws! The sucking action of using a straw will pull the blood clot out. You should be fine. Any concerns ask your dentist at your post op appt. Best of luck!
