Does HPV mutate in the system?

  1. Everything mutates. It's just a matter of how much. Compared to something like a person, yes, lots. Compared to a virus like HIV, barely at all. HPV is a dsDNA virus, which have more stable genomes than single stranded, or RNA viruses, or retroviruses. However, they do mutate significantly faster than something like a bacteria or eukaryotic organism.
