I have a question about Pokemon Emerald. Can someone help me?

Ok here's my question. I just beat the Elite 4 and the Champ. I went to the Battle Frontier. While I was there I came across trainers who had Pokemon like Ponyta and Aipom. I saw a Ditto, Flareon, Jolteon, Jinx, Cyndiquill, Todidile, even a Noctowl. My question is how and where do I find the Pokemon l saw. I was didn't know I could get the old Pokemon in this game. Now I am left to wonder. Can anybody help me?

It depends, you can trade all of the pokemon you saw, or you can just capture some of them, but I would check your pokedex to see if you can even caputure them.

If you see a pokemon in the battle frontier doesn't mean you can find it in the game. Most of the pokemon seen there need to be traded from another version to get.

You can get the 386 from the first three in any 3rd gen game. Ditto you can catch in fire red and leaf green. You can get eevee from bill in fire red or leaf green and breed it. Jinx you's have to trade with that guy in cerulean city in leaf green. You can breed it for a smoochum. Hoothoot you can catch in the extension of the emerald safari zone. The johto staters you need pokemon colluseum.

ok DITTO you can find

first go to the city after the grass with all the ashes on it

then go into the house with the cave and go in the cave then talk to the guy then move ahead into the room and wild pokemon show up like ditto                                  

for the other pokemon you need to trade
