I was looking at my cat who is 3 years old and I noticed that some of his whiskers are shorter than the others. I have noticed this before every so often. do cat's loose their whiskers and have more grow back in? next time I'm at the vet I'll ask them but I was wondering if anyone else can tell me about this and if this is something I should be more concerned about than what I am I'll be sure to make an appointment at the vet ASAP.

He is fed blue spa adult food so it is a good quality food.

  1. Yes this is normal. Never cut your cat's whiskers. Cats do loose whiskers like you loose your baby teeth. It grows back.

  2. yes they loose their whiskers ,the same as they shed their fur,and loose their dead claw nail.

  3. Cats shed their whiskers and they do grow back so do not worry about your kitty.  He is fine and is just like all other kitties.

  4. Yes, your kitty sheds his whiskers...I find my Xan-man's whiskers everywhere and somehow he still has a full face of them.

You don't really need to see your vet about this, unless kitty loses all of them and they don't grow back in.
