I have a question about a disorder called somnambuliform possession that was named in the movie the Exorcist?

In the movie the Exorcist they mention a disorder called "somnambuliform possession" in the exactly words from the Exorcist script: 'It looks like a type of disorder that you rarely ever see anymore, except in primitive cultures. Quite frankly, we don't know much about it except that it's starts with some conflict or guilt that eventually leads to the patient's delusion that his body's been invaded by an alien intellegence; a spirit if you will.'

Is there a actually disorder that a patient thinks that they are possessed? Is there another word for this disoder? Could someone provide me some links on this subject? I just curious.

If that last paragraph is what you believe...then it's for sure that  you 've never been possessed! That doesn't mean that others haven't. I've had personal experience with possession.  Have you ever been on fire? That's what it felt like for me.
