We found this cat and she was already pregnant but she looks really close now. She is normally lying on the table all day but today she has been up doing things. She is also eating a lot. And sometimes when she is walking around she growls. The babies are kicking a lot as well. She is also in my parents bathroom as well.and then my sister opened up a cupboard and she went inside. About how many days do we have left.

  1. You can call a veterinarian and get more information.

  2. hard to say, but i would guess any day now.

  3. I don't think you have too many days left.

If I were you I would get prepared for it and have everything ready for her. Like a comfortable place to have them and maybe some special food for her.

  4. hi

Firstly I would like to say if she has been 'found' very recently, did you get her checked by a vet at all to see her condition? Labour can be very daunting and complicated (as we have experienced with our cats) and it would be a good idea to know her age and general health...

BUT it may be starting right now. Although often cats loose apetite on onset of labour- one of mine didn't...

Definatly very soon, into the days rather than weeks i imagine. It would be best to have her checked to make sure she is okay though; we have had some shocking experiences recently with our cats & their pregnancies it wasn't quite how we expected!

But it is very kind of you to allow this cat into your home; you are very kind people and i hope all goes well for you. Good luck!

  5. I would say, since she is nesting, that she has at the most 2 days left. Cats nest about 1 or 2 days before birth. I would just make sure you know where she is and make sure she is safe. Keep a close eye on her and hopefully she will have her kittens soon.

    Good Luck!!!!

  6. The gestation period for cats is 63-65 days. The mother will actively look for a place to have the kittens about a week before birth, if she is active and getting into cupboards then she is probably very close. Give her a box with a blanket on the bottom, cut the box down so she can get into it easy, but not so low that kittens can crawl out in four weeks. Put it in a closet and see if she likes it, then leave it and her alone. If she hasn't delivered in 7 days, take her to the vet!
