The other day my mole got very itchy. As I itched, it grew double its size so it looked like a bug bite. It hasn't itched since, but should I be worried? I would also like to know what it means? Is it cancerous? I'm only 14 and I'm really scared.

  1. You should go to the doctor to get it checked out! They will tell u whether or not it is cancerous or not. If it bleeds when u scratch it it's not a good sign. =/

  2. hmm, get it checked out by your doctor.

it could be something...not necessarily cancerous but it could definatley be something.

please see your doctor very soon...were talking first thing tomorrow morning...

  3. First off, it's not "Gross", and if you can't help or say something that concerns the question, then don't Rudeness is not attractive

Unlike normal moles itchy moles seldom occur, however this occurrence could be attributed to several factors. One of the factors to be blamed why moles itch is the skin irritation caused by UV rays. UV rays between 10 AM to 4 PM is strong enough to burn the unprotected skin leading to the growth of skin pigmentations that we call moles. The people who have several sunburn encounters since birth to the present age are most likely to get skin cancer. Malignant melanoma is a deadly skin cancer that rarely occurs. One can save his life by detecting the early symptoms of malignant melanoma. The modern medicine can cure melanoma if detected promptly.

Itchy moles are also due to the moles that are scratched or irritated during shaving. Moles may appear anytime after but if they occur in the mid year life of a person it should be monitored. These moles may have abnormal patterns that are associated with malignant melanoma. Detecting melanoma is as simple as reciting your ABCD alphabet plus other signs including itchy moles. Aside from having the dermatologist check your skin, you can also do self-examination on the moles in your skin.
