Ok, I believe that I am A, but Im not 100% sure. My husband is A+, so I don't know if Im A+ or A- if I am A. We are having trouble concieving and so we are thinking about having our bestfriend donate and he is AB, then how does all that work. Say if Im A and our friend is AB, what will the child's blood type be?

  1. Why would you do that? Blood type won't affect your ability to conceive. It has nothing to do with it! Visit your doctor and get some hard facts about it, OK. There is no reason why you can't seek fertility help and have your baby the 'usual' way. If there's a blood problem between you and the baby they simply give you a 'rhesus' shot and all is well.

  2. The only thing blood type could be a problem with is the RH factor - then, it's only a possible problem if you have a negative blood type and the baby's father has a positive blood type, and they will give you RhoGam later in pregnancy for that.

The actual blood type (A, B, AB, O) don't matter at all - and your child could be born with either blood type.

  3. the child would most likely be A and then the next would be AB but that would have a very slim chance of happening

  4. You child would be A or AB....the blood type will come from either the mother or the father or a mixture of both.
