I have heard rumors about dvd players becoming obsolete and blue ray taking over. Is this true? Are there special dvd players for blue ray? Do they play regular dvd's? What is the deal because im really afraid that if I buy any more regular dvds that it would simply be a waste of money. Thanks in advance for your answers and comments!

  1. DVD will not be obsolete for a few years at  the least. Now that Blu-ray is the only high-def format, there will an out-poring of material in the next year (hopefully). The guys above me are right.  Unless your a big high-def fan and you love movies I would wait till pricing comes down a bit and let a few more generations of new blu-ray players emerge before you invest. However, there are still lots of problems 'em. More questions? I've owned a home theater business. Just let me know

  2. Yeah they play regular DVDs and Blue Ray. I think they could take over. But hey and company promoting a product will say they are taking over. But regular DVD players on play DVDs.

  3. Hi!  I'm posting a link for you below to a really good article about Blu-Ray and why you should hold off buying one for now.
