Does texting/calling really destroy your battery life? My friend tells me that it doesnt cause she does it all the time, but I think shes wrong. And also, is it really COMPLETLEY free if I call someone from the same service? Like verizon? I'm really doubting the info she is giving me. Can you help?

  1. Using the phone for talking or texting while charging should not destroy anything, since most phones are on household power when they are plugged in and the battery is just getting charged at that point.

Where most people go wrong is that they don't manage their charging very well. Batteries have a finite number of charging cycles to them (several hundred) so you are wasting charge cycles if you charge the battery a lot when it doesn't need it. Best to let the battery get down low before charging each time; and make sure it charges fully before removing it from the charger.

  2. depends on your plan. anything you do on the phone will drain the battery. playing music, video and talking drain the most battery. you can always recharge. lithium ion battery you should once in a while let it drain out before a recharge.
