I have a question about chinchillas

Question

Can i put two males together??? Or should i get a female and spay it or not so they can breed but idk if im ready for that much resdponsibility.

My chinchilla is lonely and im at my moms half the time.

Yes, you can keep two males together. Though, they would need to be introduced slowly and overtime. You would need to buy a second cage to place next to your current one to put the new male in. This allows them to smell and get used to one another. After a week or two, then you can try putting them in the same cage. There may be some fighting at the beginning, but this is only to establish dominace between the two. However, if it becomes to serious and they begin to hurt one another, then they would need to be seperated. There's no gaurentee that they will get along at all. I would suggest not getting a female and spaying it. Surgery is just too hard on a chinchilla, espically somthing as critical as spaying.

Yes, it is possible to keep two chins of the same gender together. I have done it many times. However, that is not a guarantee that ALL male chins will get along with ALL other male chins, right out of the box.... you will still need to start with two cages....

It is always best to have a second cage around after the two are living together, incase a fight breaks out.

You might want them to get to know each other first. You might want to get both of them and then let then run around the kitchen and and let them get to know each other. But make sure that they don't go down the heating vent or get stuck anywhere so make sure you cover those spots up with a towel. Also with my chins one of them like when I strum my guitar. she hops around her cage and she really seems to like it.

they get along better male and female but you could get a male, they may get along but they may fight. i would just get a girl and spade her, if you don't want babies

Chins are one of the only small mammals where you can put multiples of the same gender together if introduced right.  Also get a bigger cage so there will be no territory battles.  If you have any plastic I would also get that changed to all metal since two chins eating at a base will make holes quicker than one.
