Well i'm about to get my first pair of contacts after wearing glasses for about five years. Does anyone have any good advice for me or things that i should do? I have a history of eye infection so i'm nervous. And also does anyone know of a good Multipurpose solution that cleans, disinfects and everything?

Thanks :]

  1. The absolute critical thing is cleanliness. Never, ever touch your contact lenses without thoroughly washing your hands!

And clean them very carefully according to the instructions from your eye doctor.

As for solution, Equate (Wal-mart's brand) has served me well for about ten years.

  2. Bausch & Lomb Sensitive Eyes Daily Cleaner or Renu

  3. Opti free works great but don't use Renu because it can make your vision get worse

  4. As Gro. said... it is cleaness... also.. if u have sensetivity ...

ur hands must be clean.. with ur boxes and OPTI FREE in ur bag,  whenever u  felt stitching pain , redness.. discomfort in ur eyes... get the boxes out.. open them..and clean ur hands.. and get them out of ur eyes.. and same when u r puttin them on..

anysenstivity.. have to get them out..and turn back to ur glasses...and take any Antihistaminics EyeDrops ... and get in a dark room.. if still senstivity.. go to see an ophthalmologist near by u. Tc.

  5. Since you're prone to eye infections, I don't recommend extended wear contacts as they can increase the chance of an eye infection. Never try to sleep in your contacts or you will wake up feeling like you have half dried glue in your eyes! It's a pretty awful feeling. The best contact CLEANER I have found in called Ciba Vision Clear Care. It's a peroxide solution that will get your contacts as clean as new. You put your contacts in a little basket on top of a neutralizer solid and pour in the solution to the line. You have to leave it for overnight, then when you get them in the morning the solution has reacted with neutralizer on the bottom of the basket, and it's just saline solution! Cool huh? I use this and I've yet to get an eye infection. A few more tips, wash your hand EVERY time you put in or take out your contacts to avoid infection. Contacts are very convenient and after you use them for awhile, you won't want glasses ever again! They are completely second nature to me now. Good luck!
