  1. No you cant, pressure is much higher and when you braze it you need to flush the pipe with nitrogene while you braze. Use

proper ac pipe and make mechanical connection Using flaring tool and compression connector

  2. yes thats how its suppose to be done

  3. Use type L for copper refrigerant lines, it is a thicker walled tubing to withstand the high pressures in the unit. often 250 psi or more. All joints should also be silver soldered.

After a unit has been open, before recharging, you must pull a vacuum on the system to remove all the air and moisture.

  4. Yes; in fact, it is standard to do so.  See caveats in previous responses about proper techniques.

  5. Tubing used for refrigeration is sealed at the ends to prevent any moisture or other contamimants from entering the tubing until it is used. Water tubing( L type) can be used if it is new and clean. It just might take a little longer to vacuum down to 300 microns to assure that all noncondensibles are boiled out.

  6. Water copper line is not dehydrated and sealed like refrigerant lines are.
