  1. She is a blue tang.

Ok, is this your first fish?? If it is, WOA, do not start a saltwater tank! Maybe once you have figured out how to set up freshwater tank really good you can think about a saltwater tank! A betta would be your best choice. They need a minimum of 1 gallon of water, you feed them once a day and change the water once a week, very simple, and a lot less  work then a hampster.  If you want a compaion go for a hampster, if you want something pretty to look at go for the betta. It would me MUCH less work then a hampster or a saltwater tank. For the 2 species you listed to live together out would already need between 75-100 gallons of water! With a betta you need 1-any # of gallons. NOTHING is to big for bettas! People may come on here saying they like small spaces and live in mud puddles in the wild, NOT TRUE! They live in the rice patty feilds of tialand, these feilds are a LARGE shallow area of water......hundeads of gallons and the wild bettas live there and control the mosquito population by eating the larve, so the farmers love them! Here is how to cycle the tank for you betta- http://www.firsttankguide.net/cycle.php

(Note:You can use your betta to cycle the tank with OR do a cycle with no fish  by putting fish food in the water and as it rots it create ammonia and eventually it will be  broken down into nitrite and nitrate. Much faster to cycle without fish then with fish.)

  2. Dory is a blue tang, a very difficult saltwater fish.

Clown fish can be pretty skittish to take care of too.

Again, don't get into saltwater until you have immense freshwater experience and you read everything you can about it. They're a lot of work.

Clown fish are very nervous and very small fish. They are eaten or at least pestered by almost anything else in the tank with them. They also have to have an anemone or they will die. Why exactly, I can't remember off the top of my head. But for the anemone, you need special lights and you have to watch the water very carefully. I would advise only people who know what they are doing to look into them.

  3. dory is a blue tang

    salt water tanks (clownfish etc)

are hard to care for and are expensive

  4.          Well, I don't know anything about saltwater fish, but I can tell you that Dory is a regal blue tang.

  6. I agree with loves bettas.DO NOT GET A SALT WATER TANK! UnlessYou have like five years of expirience with all kinds of tropical fish and have researched salt water tanks a lot DONT GET ONE.Also her name is dori not dora.

  7. Congrats on your first spawn, betta lover!

I'm pretty sure Dory is a blue tang, or something like that. I remember it reminding me of fruit. (The tang part. I know, call me weird, but my mnemonic devices work. Wow. I can't believe I actually had to spell that word for something. I'll shut up now.)

But anyway, if this is your first fish, or if you want something low maintenance, I would suggest a goldfish, or maybe some cichlids.

Bettas are a little more maintenance, but one of my first tanks consisted of 1 betta, and two dwarf frogs. You don't need that big of a tank, and you just give him 3 pellets in the morning and evening.

For the dwarf frogs, you can put in a tubifex worm cube every week.

    EDIT: Yup, blue tang:
