Ok well I had two girl hamsters and 1 boy hamster in a cage. Of course they mated and both of the female hamsters became pregnant i seperated all 3 of the hamsters.

(so don't give me any c**p about that)

Now my question is when all the babies grow a little older can i put the other mommy hamster in the same cage as the other mommy hamster?

Also what about the male?

  1. yes you can that works fine

  2. are they syrian or dwarf hamsters?

if they are dwarf hamsters there is no problem if you put them all in the same cage since dwarf hamsters know that they should not mate until the newborns are older. also, dwarf can live together in one cage wothout any conflicts.

but, if they are syrian then there is a problem. you should separate each parent w/ their litters. after the litters are already 6 weeks old then you can put them in two separate cages one for each gender in order to stop the possibilty of having new bathches. when they reach 10 weeks old you should give the new ones to your friends beacuse it is not advisable for syrian hamsters to be place together in a cage. syrian hamsters should be separated from each other to avoid conflicts.

    hope this helps!

  3. I had one hamster, she was prego from the pet store. She gave birth, I didn;t know it, I was little, and she ended up eatting the babies. We called the store and they said the female hamsters always eat their babies on the first litter.

  4. You can try putting the mommies back together, but having babies sometimes changes their personalities a bit, so they might not accept each other again. It will all depend on the hamster.

  5. yes u can put them together again

just remember not to put boys together to avoid mating unless u want to breed ur gerbils! lol

    hope i helped!

  6. yeah you can.

just make sure they dont fight or anything. and yes the male can go and there to but hes gonna end up mating with one of the mommy hamsters again

  7. I breed hamsters and actually if both females got pregnant near the same time they can be kept together, they will actually share the litters causing less stress,

  8. you can put the 2 females back together, you can even keep the female babies with them (keep the males separate b/c they will mate with their babies!)

  9. yes you can

  10. Carmina,

When the babies grow a little older, you can try to put the two together, although it probably won't work out. First, put the two in a large bowl or the bathtub, however do NOT put them together in either one of the cages, as it will smell like the other  hamster. Watch the two closely. One of the hamsters will probably roll onto its back several times. This is because it is showing that it does not want to fight with the other hamster. Sniffing is normal, as they are curious about each other. If you hear any squeaking from either of the hamsters, seperate them quickly. They may be playing, but squeaking also means a hamster is hurt. It's always better to be safe then  sorry. If the hamsters start fighting(short loud squeaks and hamsters rolling and biting everywhere), take a towel and place it on one of the hamsters. Hold tightly and place the two in their cages. There's no need to worry about your hamsters being hurt from the fight unless blood is pouring out of them or they have deep marks on their neck, stomach, or head. If so, CALL a vet A.S.A.P if you want them to live. If all goes well and they don't fight, place them together but watch them closely for the next three days. If they did fight or were squeaking, try again the next day. If it doesn't work then, the two will be better off seperated. Leave the male by himself. Do not place him with any of the babies or females, as males can be VERY vicious. He will be fine by himself. However, he may require more attention than usual from you, as he may still get a little lonely. So unless you want to have more babies, leave him by himself. I hope everything goes well.
