I'm going to be a sophomore this year and would like to know what kinds of classes I should take in the next years. There are three things I wanna do but don't know what I want to major in, but I'm thinking dancer. The other two things I want to do besides that are something to do with art and maybe write a book or two. For art, I like to work with clay, draw, paint, scrapbook, and lot's of other things. For writing books, right now I'm working on one and am going to see how it goes. I know that if I wanna continue to write books I should take English and for art, of course I should take art. But for dance, I don't know. My parents know I wanna be a dancer, but won't let me take more than one class even though I did last year and it went fine. What kinds of classes should I take for dance? I'm not one hundred percent sure I want to MAJOR in dancing, but I know I want it to be one of the things I do. I've been dancing for a few years and have loved art for a very long time, ever since I was very young. I just developed an interest in writing a book recently. What kinds of classes should I take? Thanks!

  1. Go and ask a counselor. Tell them everything you have said here, and they should be able to help you. It's their job, after all.

  2. I would suggest anything to do with the performing arts (for dance, vocal music, playing instruments....just to get some background). Take alot of english classes (especially related to writing courses) and maybe some computer courses as well...

  3. Since you don't have any dance classes, check out if there are any clubs at your school that are for dancers. My school has about 3 of them.

I also suggest you take an AP class in English since you want to write.

Not too sure about art though. I guess taking art would be the best thing for you.

If your school is a Liberal Arts high school like mine, there should be tons of classes and clubs for you to join.

  4. basket

  5. Creative writing classes. Pottery Class, and maybe something really random like Marine Biology, You'll love it!!!

  6. What ever you decide to do, remember to take your basic english and math. They will always come in handy no matter what! And if you change your mind at any time those classes will always count and you won't end up taking classes you'll never use.

  7. you could take a creative writing class or journalism for english. For art you could take ceramics since you like clay but I also think that photography is very fun. The best choice for dance would be a dance class but if not maybe you could look into theatre.
