My 1yr daugther is not feeling to good. We thought it was her teeth because there are 2 coming in so we gave her motrin and also gave her teething tablets however we noticed that she was just acting like she couldnt pass gas or her belly might be hurting her, so I took her to the bedroom to change her diaper and tried to see if there was bowel stopped up in there, I tried to take her temp rectally and felt a bunch of poo-poo packed in there so i pressed on her lil tummy and she screamedddddd and finally it came out but was very very hard... I think it has helped shes alot more relaxed now.. howeverrrrr when we were bringing her in the living room she hit her lil head on the corner of the wall. She cried for about 30 seconds and stopped she is acting fine just relaxed but we noticed she has a good size bump on the side of her head not on the top but the side. Do you think she is ok to go to sleep??? And is there anything other than prunes to help her belly?? Thanks for the help

  1. As above, I wouldn't worry about the bump on the head, 99% of the time it'll go away with a bit of antiseptic.  As for the bowel problem, if her r****m was impacted I'd give her a baby glycerine suppository if I were you - make her do a big doodle in 5-15 minutes.

  2. if shes hurting that much i would use suppositories. i use a pinch of sugar in a bottle of water for my 3 1/2 month old. theres also karo syrup. try avoid giving her oatmeal, cheese and other consitpating foods for a cpl days.  if ur worried about the bump try calling doc and see if theres an after hours number or call the hospital and ask to speak to a nurse.

  3. I'm sure the head bump is fine. That happens. About the tummy, see if you can give her prune juice (mix with apple juice if necessary) OR give her some fresh pear. Especially more of a green pear...soften it however you need to for her particular food preferences. That always worked for us as kids.

  4. Go easy on the bannanas and cheese for a few days. And give her some prune juice, grape juice, friuts, and bran cereal  to loosen the stole.

I'd also go easy on the motrin maybe tylonal instead? Motrin is tough on the tummy.

I think her head will be okay. Just watch the swelling closely and put some ice on it. If she starts acting wierd, tired, or it becomes a huge knot i'd take her to the doctors.

My favorite tummy product is Little Tummy's Gripe Water. It helps tummy cramps, gas, discomfort, and nausea. It's sweet relief. Mylocon drops never worked for my children.

  5. YES.

    Childrens kaopectate

    and Milocon!

Milocon stops the gas fast, and the other will help with the booboo problems.

I would just use the Milocon drops and then lay her down on her back and sing the wheels on the bus. as you sing it make her legs go in a bycicle motion, she will pass any gas she has and the bowel problems usually take care of themselves. If that does not work they have children sapositorys that melt fast and that will have her moving her booboo in no time.
