I got my son used to mashed foods and now I have been trying to get him used to foods that he has to chew. He is giving me a REALLY hard time. Now my question is..is this a serious problem?

  1. If he's still teething, the mushy food probably feels better.  He may also enjoy the feeding time with you.

I'd steam baby carrots and peeled apple slices til they are soft enough to squoosh, but not fall apart on the plate.  You can do this with pears, peaches, squash, potatoes, fish, chicken, rices and pasta.  Pasta comes in all different shapes...my toddlers loved the flower shaped pasta (Barilla).

Patience, trial and error, and a touch of good luck will see you through this transition period.  It's not any kind of problem...just a time of changing things up!

  2. as they say try and try again my son is now 2yrs old and very picky eater I just keep presenting it he will eventually eat it. when he doesn't i buy those spaghetti bowls because I know he will eat that. but normally now if he sees me eating it he will. dress it up, put it on funny farm plates and show him when its gone what he will see..

  3. Keep trying - he'll be fine.

  4. I don't think something like this would be considered serious. What I think I would try is to gradually increase the size of his food until you are giving him larger pieces that he will have to chew. good luck

  5. This is at least the 3rd time you've asked this question.

Stop asking us and go see his doctor!

Sounds like a serious problem. We aren't doctors. You need to address this issue now. It could be something more severe. Ex: retardation.

Edit: OMG! Lady you have been asking this question for about 3 months now. Looking at your history you've probably asked this same question about 100 times.

Defax needs to look into you.

Asking about disciplinging him when he was 9 months old...now you wont take him to a pediatrician...You're a bad mother.
