i have to simplify fractions for homework the question is y/y to the 3rd power how do i do this??

  1. It would be 1/y^2

    Because you can reduce

    Divide the top and bottom by y. (just think of y as a number)

    y divided by y is 1 (numerator)

    y^3 divided by y is y^2 (denominator)

  2. the simplfied answer would be 1/y^2. you are able to pull a y from both the numerator and the denominator.
