  1. you dont need money! agents are free but proffesional pictures arent. just tell your parents that no matter what they say your determined to make it come true and you really wish tehy would support you.!!!!! and just do school plays take classes at school and build up your resume! go to actinginfo.blogspot.com for everything you need to know. and click on the blue words for more info! but not the ones that are double underlined! and also go to talentagents.blogspot.com and look on the right and click table of contents and click the city nearest you and then get a peice of paper! and pen! and call each agency on the list in a row and ask if they represnt actresses your age if they say yes aask if theyre are any fees to be represented if they say no but they get paid 10-20 % of your income then ask how you can submit for representation and then write down the name of the agency and address/email and number and how to submit! but if tthey say that yes theyre are fees say thanks for your time and hang up because theyre a scam! and do that with all teh agencys! and tehn make your resume and get a headshot and cover letter if you need it(site says ow to make all of that!) and send it off and hope that they cal you! good luck!

  2. Hey,

If your parents aren't supportive enough. You nee to show them this is what you want to do it life and this is your passion.

If they still don't support you try going to local theaters and have a talk with them say this is what you want to do in life. Try softening them up say they are a lawyer. I would try and say i didn't stop you from pursuing your ream so you can't stop me from pursuing mine.

And also get lots of practice at home speak clearly and loudly so they hear you and understand you want to do this.

Maybe they will Have a talk with you and get you an agent and maybe let you go to some auditions.

    Hope I helped

  3. Write down on a sheet of paper, all of the reasons you want to become an actress.  Also include all of the steps you have to go through to become one. (I've listed them below.)  Do some research about costs. Then, once you have all of your facts together, approach your parents, try to reason with them, let them know how important this is to you.  You should at the same time, assure them that you will continue your education, to learn another trade or career, so you will have something to fall back on.  This will be important to them.

You should also look for a part time job so you can earn some money of your own and save it for the expenses you will have such as pictures, (as long as it doesn't interfere with schoolwork and grades).

"To be a successful actor you really have to have a passion for the craft and the patience to wait for the big break. Although being an actor is extremely rewarding, finding work can be a challenge. The profession requires great commitment and fortitude."

To get started - Participate in any plays or shows that your school puts on. Do this now, in highschool and college.

    Learn:

You need to be a voracious reader and a hungry learner. Read and know everything you can get your hands on about acting. Having knowledge on various types, techniques and principles of acting would give you a great deal of confidence.

Take lessons in personality development, dance, singing, martial arts and any thing that can give credit to your talent list.

You also need to enroll in theaters in the neighborhood, be it school theater, community theater or a children's theater (if you are a kid).

    Practice

Keep acting. Do anything and any role that comes your way or if it doesn't come your way go in search of it until you find it. While knowing is one thing, practicing reinforces what you know. All the big timers in the industry today have the cutting edge because of the years of honing they have given themselves through rigorous practice in a medley of challenging roles. So the take away here is keep practicing and don't let any chance pass you.

Join modeling competitions, talent shows, or anything that can give you a chance to practice.

    After you finish school (graduate)

To be a successful actor you really have to have a passion for the craft and the patience to wait for the big break. Although being an actor is extremely rewarding, finding work can be a challenge. The profession requires great commitment and fortitude.

Step 1 Decide whether you want to be a professional actor (addressed here) or an amateur. If you want to be a professional, read on.

Step 2 Move to a major city. Eventually, New York or Los Angeles will be your destination, but as you build your resumé of experience you can work in other major metropolitan areas that have good theater or film communities.

Step 3 Enroll in acting class. Good actors study their entire lives. To choose a good class, ask trusted, successful professionals for references.

Step 4 Get a headshot (see "How to Get a Headshot," under Related eHows).

Step 5 Compose a resumé of all the work you have done so far. As your body of work grows, drop the less professional work (such as school plays) from your resumé.

Step 6 Send your headshot and resumé with a brief cover letter to all the casting directors and agents in your area. Follow up with postcards every four to six months, updating them on your current acting projects.

Step 7 Read the trade papers regularly: "Backstage," "Dramalogue," "The Ross Reports" and "Variety," as well as online publications such as newenglandfilm.com, as appropriate. Know what is being cast where, and send headshots and notes directly to directors and producers whenever possible, requesting auditions.

Step 8 Always accept invitations to industry events and parties, and meet industry professionals whenever possible. Who you know is extremely important.

    Step 9 Persevere.

Another thing you might do is watch some of the biographies on TV about famous actors & actresses (especially when you get to feeling dejected about it). The majority of them had to work long and hard at it to get their first big break.

  4. If your parents aren't supportive you can't really do much.. they sign everything, drive you everywhere.. and it shouldn't cost a penny everything in acting is usually free, sit down with your parents and talk to them about it.
