I have a question about my credit hours...

Ok I'm looking at getting a certificate in Addictions counseling. Well the college I'm going through says it will take 40 credit hours. How many years is that gonna take? Isn't it just 1 year depending on how many classes I take?

Well...about a year yes.  In New York our state and community colleges allow a max of 19 credit hours per semester.  However  usually people take 12-18 credits.  That is 5-6 classes(3cr.hr/class).  You have to talk to an admissions counselor or the dean of the department to figure out what the 40 hours consist of.  But yes if you want to get it done in one year I could safely assume you could.
