I have a question about my ipod classic.?

kay so i have and ipod classic 80GB and i only have 1070 song and like 1 movie and 5 music videos and i can turn it on it wont let me go past the main menu to play any of my songs. and i have no clue what to do, and it wont let me turn it off . my friend showed me a way to turn it off. but i cant play any of my songs. anyone know how i can get to my songs or why its doing this.?

well i had that happen with my ipod

first make sure t isn't on hold

and if it isn't what happen with mine was i thought it was broken so i started freaking out

but it turns out it needed a new version download

i thought those weren't important and every time it offered one i said no

but they were free and i tried everything else and so i downloaded a new itunes version and now mine works great

press the middle circle & menu at the same time and hold them till the apple thing comes up and then let go & it means it resetting.. noting is lost, if htat doesnt work.. then im not sure.
