I have a question about phone call and phone services.?

Is there any chance if i could, i want the number of the city of Texas, Dallas, but i live in Toronto Canada . i mean when i call the number on their caller id appears to be a texas dallas number but really i am calling from toronto canada. Is there such service tell me anything i dont care just anything relevant t o this

Vonage and other Voip's can allow you to do this..you can pick any area code & number you want.  They do this so that if you have family that calls all the time from one state, and you live in another...then you can pick an area code in their area so its not long distance for them.  I don't dunno if this works the same from Canada but I do know Vonage serves Canada.  But be forwarned, if your neighbor calls you from next door, they will be charged long distnace just like they would be if they actually called Dallas from Canada.
