In the 1997 Labour landslide victory, what happened to the 246 Conservative MPs who lost their seats? Obviously they were no longer MPs and could not sit in Parliament, so what jobs did they get afterwards?

I often wondered the same. I'm sending Slipshod 10 points for his answer above.

Now I understand. I always thought they fought for elections to help and represent us but it seems they are so keen to lie to us and deceive us - so they can keep their cushy jobs and not have to sign on the dole.

these people are usually corperate lawyers before they run for public office so you tell me,what they will do after?run IBM?or anything to do with law,how does $1000 an hr strike you?
