I was just wondering if they had special schools and scholarships for people with learning disabilities? I have graduated high school, but I would like to be able to say that I have accomplished something else in my life.I want to do something with computers, but I can't type with both hands.

  1. Most colleges and universities have a student services or disability services center to help people with physical and learning disabilities.  Call around.  They can help you with scholarship info too.

  2. Typing with both hands is not a requirement for college, although learning the keys will allow you to type faster.  Also, as a person with special needs you should have accommodations/modifications that will allow for the services that you will need to be successful on your academic journey.

You may want to check with the Board of Education in your area to find any special programs or scholarships available.  Although you can find scholarships on line at Fast Web; I believe.

The other thing to consider, is your area of interest and whether or not you need to apply for a program that offers hands on/on the job training and educational credits.

  3. Depending on where you live, there should be vocational centers that will be able to hook you up with classes for people with special needs. Here in California, I know there are schools that help with getting training and jobs for special ed students. I congratulate you right now for wanting to do something with your life. With an attitude like that-you cant fail.I'm going to wish you much more than good luck.

  4. yes, there are colleges that have programs for learning disabled people.

  5. theres a school called Forman School in  Litchfield, CT.

  6. all caliges have disability cervices. just call to what ever calage you want to attend, and ask them for info abot it.
