I have a question about public schools?

If public school is suppose to be free why am I having to spend so much stinkin money on all this mess

They get paid by state taxes but you have to do back to school clothes/supplies and lunch money.

Part of it is that as a society, we're diverting money away from the public schools. Some things that kids have to buy now, people didn't have to buy when they were younger. It only gets worse in college, when you're required to buy textbooks, occasionally at $150-200 EACH, prepackaged by the school store with software you can't find cheaper on the internet.  

If you're having trouble affording the basic stuff, have your parents or guardian speak to the school. They usually have programs to help students get the supplies they need despite financial difficulty.

well technically its not free. you pay with it through taxes, which you get from buying all of the supplies and c**p your child needs to go to school.
