I have a question about shipping something priority mail???

I have to ship a package to a friend, and she needs it soon, so she asked me to send it Priority Mail. Do I need a special box to do that, or can I use a plain old cardboard box? I'm doing my shipping label over the net, but I didn't want to package this and tape on the shipping label, then get to the PO and find out I need a Priority box. Does anyone know???

  1. Yes, I have worked for the Post Office for seven years.

You can use a regular cardboard box, and ship it Priority Mail.  They also have free Priority Mail Boxes at the Post Office you can use.  They have a lot of different sizes to choose from.  If the item is very large (like a quilt) they do not have a box that big, and you will have to provide your own.

Make sure you ask for Delivery Confirmation, that way it is more secure than shipping with no tracking info.

    Hope this helped you!  :O)

  2. No special box needed.  Wrap it, pack it and tape on your label.  Mark "PRIORITY" on all sides, top and bottom.

    You are good to go.

  3. You can make your own box or you can get a Priority box at the PO.  Either way it will will.
