  1. The easiest way to size a board is to put the tail on the floor in front of you: the tip should come up to between your chin and your nose.  For a beginner a bit below the chin is OK.  Weight also has a lot to do with it, so if you are heavier go for a longer board (closer to your nose) if you are lighter then go a bit shorter.  As for width, if you have a size 11 or larger foot look for a mid-wide or wide board.

  2. well, i'm about your height and i ride a 149.

it comes up just to my chin, maybe like, a centimeter or two below, even.

but it's a freestyle board, and freestyle boards are often a few cm shorter than your chin, so you can jib and do tricks and rails and boxes and all dat stuff easier.

so, i'd say that anything from 148-156 would be good?

because, if you want to do backcountry, a longer board would be good, that's slightly longer than chin-height.

it basically depends on what  you're going to be doing with the board, and what you feel comfortable riding. just stay within that size range (148-156)

    have fun!

  3. if you go to a ski shop they will measure you for a board and find a good board for you
