Question:

I have a question about the GMAT test.?

I know many GMAT test takers prepare themselves through GMAT preparaton courses. I feel that it's important to do so, however I have to take the test within the next 5 weeks and it won't be possible for me to prepare myself in those terms because I have to send my score by the end of October to the University I'm applying to. My question is, if I take the test relatively unprepared and don't receive the desired score, would it have any residual effect if I take it in the future again to improve my score?

  1. That's not a great plan because that score goes on your record permanently (well, for several years at least). Why not buy a few GMAT prep books like the Manhattan GMAT Guides and the Powerscore GMAT Bibles and prep for the next five weeks? You can work through those books and then do questions from the GMAT Official Guides. At worst, you will raise your score, and at best you might get the kind of score you need.
