I went to my doctor because of irregular periods. He said to come back again if my periods continue to be irregular and he would probably put me on the pill. Is it true that birthcontroll pills make you bloated or make you gain weight? what are the best brands?

  1. Read all possible side effects yourself in

  2. this will hel it is all the info on the birth control pil but ther are other things too

  3. Your doctor will help you decide which brand of pill is right for you based on your medical history, weight, how bad your periods are and so on. Some side effects are nausea, weight gain, headache, appetite changes, and can regulate your period and even make them lighter and shorter.

  4. Bloated, no. Weight gain, possibly. Or that could be attributed to being in a long-term relationship (for me, anyway...but my weight goes up and down, usually because of my diet). I'm on Orthonovum.

  5. I know how you feel, there are a lot of crazy things about the pill on the internet. However I would advise you not to go on it unless your irregular periods are really causing you trouble. The pill has a lot of side effects, it's impossible to tell what will or will not happen to you when you're on the pill, we all react differentially. I'm going to change mine as it has brought me the cramp comfort I wanted (I used to have to stay in bed for 2 days of my period with crippling cramps and vomiting) but it has done nothing for my flow, and I want all the benefits I can get. Your first month might be a little crazy, mine was, but I was going exams at the same time, so it might have been a mixture of that, I was just very emotional, but if you are not happy after 3 months, change your pill! i'm on my 6th month now, and I wished i'd just changed 3 months ago to be honest.

I think I may have gained a little weight, and my b*****s have got bigger, but I'm not that healthy anyway! Just try and change you diet / exercise a little if you're worried about gaining some weight, but it might not even happen to you.
