I have a question about tijuana and its border control.......?

Question

ALOT of americans by oxycontin, valium, vicodin etc and other prescriptions at tijuana pharmacies.

but do those americans coming back into america get searched for prescription drugs? dont they have dogs? how do they get it across?

DONT WORRY I AM NOT PLANNING ON SMUGGLING DRUGS NOR WOULD I EVER TRY THEM

Most of the time when people are buying something not legal to carry accross the border.  they mail it to themselves from mexico.  Some of the pharmacys will do that for you when you buy from them.  To carry accross you have to have a scrip from a US doctor for the meds, even of they are OTC in mexico.

I live here I am a nurse and they do not let me repeat get those drugs here, we have no vicodin in mexico. They are getting sold a drug that may look like that drug, as in the case of vicodin they are horse medication. how scary is that????? Total scamming americans.

You can get ativan, xanax, and valium with a RX from a mexican doctor and you better have a copy of any and all controlled medications of the RX on your body. Don't get busted mexican jail is not fun, besides anyone knowing your in jail.

technically you may bring across prescription drugs as long as you have a US doctor's prescription.  it may be these many people who hear about actually carry their prescriptions with them.

also, the border guards profile....they have too.  so, it could just be that these guys get through.  yes, they have dogs....but they have to use the dogs on you to find the drugs.  also, many dogs are trained to find certain dangerous drugs, not all drugs.

The best place to buy prescription drugs in Mexico is at the Comercial Mexicana stores ( the logo is a giant white Pelican on an orange background) there is another name that the chain uses too- can't remember it now. It's a grocery/ department store. the RX's are cheaper than the tourist places and very reputable- noone particularly cares if a tourist gets taken-- but there'll be an uprising if a place endangers the locals- so stay away from touristy places and goto department/grocery store farmacias!
