I have a question about viola and violin?

i am a violinist right. i wanna learn to play viola and cello also. the viola i wish to purchase if 16in. does that mean from the bottom to the scroll or just the body . thanks

It is the measure from the bottom to the scroll. You're going to try out the viola first right?

a viola measurement  is the same as a violin measurement, aka from the bottom of the chinrest to the top of the scroll
