Question:

I have a question about wearing makeup and my face breaking out?

I'm in my early 20's. I only wear eyeliner and sometimes eye shadow and lip gloss. I was thinking about wearing some sort of liquid powder or face powder. If I was too, will it break my face out with bumps? Or clog my pours? I don't have any bumps on my face now. I have flawless skin. Why is powder needed anyway? Thanks!

  1. for girls to cover up those little imperfections they stress about. =]

  2. foundation is used to even out the skin tone and cover up small red spots, it also helps to make your makeup stay on longer, acting as a base. Foundation makes your face blend with bronzer/blush better. If you use a good foundation (i recommend a powder kind)

"Face powder is a cosmetic powder applied to the face to set foundation after application. It can also be reapplied throughout the day to minimize shininess caused by oily skin. There is translucent sheer powder, and there is pigmented powder. Certain types of pigmented facial powders are meant be worn alone with no base foundation. Powder tones the face and gives an even appearance. Besides toning the face, some SPF based powders can also reduce skin damage from the sun and environmental stress. It comes packaged either as a compact or as loose powder. It can be applied with a sponge, brush, or powder puff. Uniform distribution over the face is achieved easier when a loose powder is applied."

Foundation is a type of cosmetic preparation applied to the face. Often referred to as a "base", a foundation is usually applied across the whole of the face except the eyes and lips. Its purpose it to make skintone and skin texture appear more even. Foundations can be used to cover up blemishes and other imperfections, and some are formulated to give a more youthful appearance by reducing the appearance of wrinkles.

"Foundations are usually sold in the form of liquids, creams, powder or mousses. They can be applied with a sponge, a foundation brush, or with the fingers. Mineral makeup foundation, however, often comes formulated as a powder (either pressed or loose powder)."

  3. Makeup shouldn't make you break out, especially since you've already got a flawless complexion. Just be sure you wash your face a few minutes before you put it on, and again before you go to bed.

Powder usually is used to control shine, you can use this if you want a more matte finish.

  4. To even out skin tone.

You probable don't need to use powder but If you want to try a something I would suggest a good quality mineral powder.

I have used Jane Iredale and Cover FX mineral make up

    - Both are non-comedogenic so they wont clog your pores.

    - Jane Iredal contains no oil, talc, dyes, parabens etc.

    - Cover Fx is wax, oil and fragrance free

Basically they don't have the ingredients that usually cause a reaction on your skin.

Personally I prefer Jane Iredale pressed mineral powder with SPF 20,
