i got my wisdom teeth out about 22 hours ago. i was reading up about dry socket, and many sources say that 2 to 5 percent of people will get this in about 2 to 5 days after the surgery. it says also that women on oral contraceptives have double the chance of getting dry socket because the blood will not clot.. i am on the pill... would i be included in this percentage?.. i had the teeth out monday morning.. and am scheduled for an 8 hour shift at work on thursday.. i had all 4 out.. i am a cashier and have to talk to and deal with people the entire day.. will this be enough time to get better, or no?

  1. i'm getting mine pulled out tomorrow.

my doc told me dry socket has a very small percentile. for me it's less than 1 percent.

he mentioned swelling will be at it's best on the 2nd day after the surgery. sooo in another day or soo it will be the most swollen.

make a check up date apporximent a week after just to make sure everythig goes as planned.

andd i think you should be fine for work.

i get mine out on wednesday and i gotta be at work friday.

i work at a movie theater soo i do talkt o a lot of people as well.

but it honestly depends on the person for recoveral.

certain peopel do better than others.

    so i'm told.

    well best of luck =D

  2. I was fine and did not have a problem with dry sockets - I was on the pill at the time as well. You should be just fine. If you start having any pain, call your surgeon...
