How long does the uploading process take on youtube? This is my first time uploading a video

Depending on how big the video is. Sometimes I had to wait 20 minutes for a video of 1 minute, but I guess that's just my laptop (:

and how fast your internet is.

if its really fast than you should upload quicker :)

it is based on the size of your video file, as well as your internet speed.

After uploading they usually go through a verification process before they are released to the public.

For me it takes about 3 minutes for every minute.

I'm using 10 megabits a second.

First go to a website like speedtest.net and take the speedtest.  Then go to the 2nd number that comes up (Upload speed) and divide that by 8.  Then right click on your video, press properties and check the size.  Now convert both numbers to a common measure.  Ex. MB or KB. (Multiply the MB by 1000 to get KB, and if it's in the GB range, multiply the GB by 1,000,000 to get KB; 1GB = 1000MB = 1,000,000KB = 1,000,000,000 bytes)  Divide the size of your video by your upload speed.  Say your upload speed is 800kbps.  Now divide that by 8 so you get 100.  Now lets say your video is 100MB.  So 100,000kb at 100kb would equal to 1000 seconds.

After you get that number, that's how long it will take for the video to upload.  Then add around 5 minutes for youtube to verify.

it depends on your connection speed and also the file size you're uploading... the smaller the file the faster you can upload and complete processing...

It is recommended that you upload wmv file format... good quality and smaller size.. so faster upload... and also faster processing.

Using windows movie maker -- you have to save it into the proper file format, that is wmv file (use the "save movie file" on the menu at the top left) before upload..

use windows movie maker (included in your windows machine)... it can help you make beautiful slideshow or video clip(e.g. mixing your songs with pictures/video/etc).... then save it as video file such as wmv file format... finally upload.

or .. Just get those clips you want , save & convert them, and then mix/match with pix/sound/etc using windows movie maker to create new masterpieces....

Zillatube produces mpg/mp3 formats from youtube that are compatible with windows movie maker(or media player), and more.

It is very easy to download and convert videos. Then edit those converted mp3/mpg videos with windows movie maker... save your file as wmv and then upload.
