well, you can call yourself anything, as per any performing rappers, movie stars, con men and most any one trying to confuse the law.  you can legally change your name, but the records stands.  the guys that got Tanya Harding in trouble changed their names, but the news papers seemed to always remind us of who they were.  you still need a legal document (birth cert.)for any number of other documents.  you will always be who you were born as.  i know a Caroline that is now a Conrad for some reason..........
