This is kinda just a fun question, to see what kind of replies we may get. My fiance, Jacob, is 23 years old and is interested to see if someone out there may be able to tell him about his past lives.

He is a sweet guy, he is into paranormal study.

He seems to hold some belief that one his past lives have something to do with vampirism, and he also holds an interest in teh Jack the ripper murders.

A psychic lady once told him that he was jack the ripper in a previous life, but that seems a little far-fetched and we aren't sure if we should believe her anyways. I mean, sure, anything is possible, but seriously.

So if anyone wants to take a shot at this, go ahead! =)

His name is Jacob, he lives in Idaho, and he is 23 years old.

  1. our souls are reincarnated, and both you and your boyfriend's souls have been re-used many times.  if you remember something from a past life, realize it's not you now.

  2. There are past lives.  The problem is that everyone wants to discover they were a king,Queen, or some other historical dignatary.  Its hard to face the fact that you may have been a dirt poor farmer eeking out a life with no social or political significance.

I was sent back and found out I had a life as a nun.  I was ony significant to some orphans and in the end I failed them by getting sick and dying with the plague.

You are trying to deal with many issues.  Vampirism is actually a disease and to give in to the demands of the disease is a consiouse descision that a person makes to his or her detriment.

It sounds like a case of Clark Kent really wanting to be Lex Luthor.

Please tell your BF that Clark Kent is really the s**y one.

  3. Hmm...maybe he's past life was in a cult, were they kill people and who knows what

  4. In a previous life Jacob was an old Jew called Moses Levy who lived in Whitechapel on Berner Street, he was very fond of visiting prostitutes and Elizabeth Stride was one of his favourites as she was willing to hitch up her petticoats for only thruppence and a jug of beer. One night he entered her humble abode unbuttoning his trousers and anticipating some pleasant rumpy pumpy - when to his great dismay he found Liz with her throat slashed and the warm blood gushing out.

In great dismay he stumbed out, but then remembered Liz had an older sister called Mary who wasn't very firm in the chest area but would do the deed for only tuppence and sometimes even share the beer, grinning with happy anticipation he buttoned up his trousers and shuffled off up the street to visit Mary planning how he would spend the penny that he would be saving.

  5. I think Jonquill's reply was remarkably well written and enjoyable to read. I'm impressed!

I hope he'll grow out of this passing fancy. I was interested in it years ago until the slightly embarrassing realisation that it's all imaginary and fuelled by charlatans. With barely a shred of evidence, it's a multi-million industry. I do wonder why Jacob wants to identify with such negative characters? I'd keep him away from alleged psychics, some of them can ruin a persons sense of self and reality. The regression could be fun but I don't think he's the type to see it as just fun!

  6. First of all, the whole 'past lives' thing is pretty much a fraud.  Although plenty of people have had 'past life regressions', none of them were suddenly able to speak a new language while reliving that life, or demonstrate a skill they didn't have before.  The most convincing cases come from India, where most of the population believes this stuff and often uses it to rip each other off, by pretending one of their kids was a wealthier neighbor who recently died.  They coached the kids about the neighbors life, but when the kids were questioned in detail, it was obvious they were making it up.  And those were the more convincing tales.

Second, there are no vampires.  Third, there are also no psychics.  Plenty of people will take your money and claim to tell you about your 'past lives' - how could you ever prove them wrong, after all?  It's one of the more fool-proof scams.

  7. My first thought/question would be in regards to the vampirism and whether or not he was told it was a 'physical' condition or a 'spirit/soul' condition...there is a difference. Personally, any 'physical' vampire condition would be a matter of culture (until otherwise proven differently) but some souls can 'suck' out the life of others.

As far as "Jack the Ripper"; stranger things have happened. I suggest you follow up with a therapist here http://www.iarrt.org/ and see if they can give you more information. There may be somebody in your area.

  8. He doesn't have a past life. You live then you die and you don't come back in another body or as another person. His vampirism could have to do with perhaps a relative who have died being involved in the occult. The occult is not good and nothing to mess with. Your boyfriend is in serious trouble though. People involved in vampirism normally have demons inhabited them or being attached to them. It is not normal and it was never what God intended for his people. He needs to pray and ask Jesus Christ to save him. Vampirism leads to nothing but destruction of the indidvidual spiritually, emotionally and otherwise.

  9. yeah with how many people that have lived in history it's much more likely to have a very uneventfull past life as a commoner.

  10. Jacob sounds like a perfectly nice kid who's been given bad advice. The biggest issue with past life regression is that there really isn't a lot of proof of it. During regression, I have yet to see a hypnotist not give someone a solid suggestion (even if accidentally) that leads them into a particular kind of past life. The choices of words are really important, particularly in hypnotism.

Vampires suck. And yes, that sounds funny, but in reality there are really no vampires which have been proved to be vampires, energy or otherwise. However, there are vampires who work in both the entertainment industry and banks, though they only suck peoples' wallets dry. Not unlike most "professional" psychics.

Psychics who tell people things are usually after one of three things: money, power, or "proving" their power (usually to themselves). Anyone who wants a reading from me, I'll tell them flat out that I'm no psychic, and give a reading. My readings have every bit as much validity and accuracy as most pro's, and I'll pit my free readings against their paid ones any day.

I could tell you that Jacob was actually PT Barnum in a previous life, and the only thing that anyone could actually tell is that I'd said that. Demand proof if you're going to trust a psychic, particularly one who stands to gain from it. Regression isn't proof. Regression is what is called "anecdotal evidence" because it's a personal experience.

I'll be honest. I'm fairly religious. I believe in reincarnation as one possibility of many as a matter of my religious preference. There's lots of good evidence to support the idea. However, there's also lots of people who want to push people in a direction that they may not necessarily believe, and this is enough reason to not trust regression.

If he was Jack the Ripper, he isn't now. I believe that now is far more important than before. Learning from the past is not the same as dwelling on it.
