  1. Have you chosen a product? Do you have some ideas for the product you might wish to choose? That would make helping easier because that is more than one question- that is a whole research paper worth of questions.

  2. You can't find the answer because you are looking at a series of questions that need answers...and you need to break the problem down into steps...

    1.  Define free-range  and organic so you will know what you are looking for

    2.  Choose a product

    3.  Describe how the food or animal is raised

    4.  Explain quality (why it is better)

    5.  Explain why it is better (or not) for the environment...does the process help or hurt the earth?

    6.  Explain possible health benefits--

This is NOT a hard assignment, but it will take some time to research the steps...

Good luck--now get off Yahoo Answers and go do your homework!

  3. i know organic food is grown without chemicals

  4. Free range would be like chickens that are antibiotic free.

  5. I put organic food into my search engine and a million sites came up. I don;t think you looked too hard.

    Read the web site below.

  6. I would choose organice over free-range (it's less confusing). I cut and pasted these two definitions for what is organic and what techniques could be used in farming. Just google organic/ benefits of organic foods.. GOOD LUCK!

Organic food has not been aided during growth with 'artificial chemicals': these would include pesticides and herbicides, or, as far as animals are concerned modern medical and chemical treatments. Many people are concerned about the potential build-up of chemical residues in the body from conventionally farmed food. Organic foods have lower levels of contaminants and several reports have found higher levels of minerals.

Organic farming techniques: Organic production systems are designed to produce optimum quantities of food of high nutritional quality by using practises that try to avoid the use of agrochemical inputs and which minimise damage to the environment and wildlife. This means that many things such as weeding need to be done manually. Animal welfare is a top priority for organic farmers - prevention of disease rather than cure is their major concern. Healthy animals are less susceptible to disease and organically farmed animals do not receive routine antibiotics or growth promoters.

  7. Organic produce uses no artificial pesticides and is grown with non genetically modified seeds in natural soil with natural fertilisers. i.e. Organic Carrots.

    Advantages are:

    1. Much lower concentrations of heavy metals in the produce

    2. Soils do not get leeched of minerals and polluted with chemicals from artifical fertilisers.

    3. Animals living in the eco-system do not get harmed by dangerous pesticides.

    4. Humans do not get harmed by pesticide residues in the produce, pesticide residues filtering into the water table and pesticide gasses in the air.

  8. Here's an example of what you could do: Free range beef. Farmers let there cattle graze naturally on grass etc.. It is thought to be a better choice for consumers because they are not getting second hand chemicals such as steroids or whatever which some farmers use to make there cattle look better. These sort of arguments can be applied to the poultry industry too. e.g. Free range chickens get to peck around in the dirt and other chickens are kept in cages and force feed to fatten them up. If you wanted to research the organic thing pick a vegetable or fruit and find out about farms which don't use insecticides etc.. hope this helps.
